När jag började på Caverion 2016 var elbranschen ny för mig. Kontoret kändes som en resa tillbaka till 80-talet, med gamla cubicles och glasade kontor. En dag såg jag en kollega som satt ensam i ett av rummen, företagets kalkylator. Det blev snabbt tydligt att han hade ett av de mest tidskrävande jobben i branschen.

Han räknade manuellt på projekt. Varje vägguttag, strömbrytare och kabellängd på ritningar granskades och summerades för hand. Processen kunde ta veckor, och om ritningarna ändrades, behövde allt göras om från början. Arbetet var ineffektivt, repetitivt och fylld av onödiga felkällor.

Några år senare startade jag mitt eget bolag, William G. Insåg då att de utmaningar kalkylatorn på Caverion brottades med var precis desamma som jag nu själv stod inför. Det var för att effektivisera min egen vardag som idén till Ritningstolken verkligen tog form.
